To the two who couldn't be more genuinely in love, I nominate my cousin, Joey and his soon to be beautiful bride, Lauren!! They are just awesome people who truly care about other people, family, friends, animals, the environment, and just about anything you can think of or talk with them about! They are simple, loving people who definitely deserve the best!! Love you both!!

thu, 2014-02-27 16:17 | hatcha

I am voting for my boyfriend's amazing sister Lauren and her equally amazing fiancé Joey! They are the best couple ever. They're hilarious and such cool people! Out of the millions of engaged couples that I know... they are by far the most spectacular and I couldn't be happier for them!

thu, 2014-02-27 16:08 | kchappel

Pssst...hey NSA, are you monitoring this post? Could you make sure that Joey and Lauren win Best Couple Ever? You can do that right? I mean, keep it fair but if you could see it through I'll make it worth your while, know what I mean?

Cool.

This nomination is for Lauren and Joey, my wonderful daughter and soon-to-be son-in-law (who is also wonderful!).
They are truly a great couple who clearly were meant to be together. After having dated in 8th grade and then going their separate ways, they met back up working at the same micro-brewery. They made everyone who came into the brewery feel like family. This was especially evident at a going away party that was held for them at the brewery, and SO MANY people came to wish them well.
Lauren and Joey have that unique quality of really being a team, whether that's figuring out how to move across the country, finding a place to live, finding jobs, or taking care of an enormous dog who suffered anxiety problem - they act as one.
They make even the smallest get together with friends and family feel like an event. As Lauren's grandmother used to say "The party doesn't start until Lauren arrives!". Through all the laughter (and there's lots!) and Joey's singing (and there's lots!), they are the kindest and caring couple you could meet. No one is ever slighted - everyone is celebrated.
And so, I and many others, look forward to celebrating Lauren and Joey's Portland wedding next spring.

I enthusiastically endorse Joey and Lauren as "Best Couple Ever". Only because there wasn't a "Best F^€£ing Couple Ever"!

Love,
Dad

This is so exciting! The most deserving, most wonderful couple is Joey and Lauren! They are absolutely perfect for each other and it makes me so happy that Joey my cousin has found someone who truly makes his world go round. I love Joey and I am so thrilled to welcome Lauren to our crazy family! Xoxo.

thu, 2014-02-27 15:06 | rncarani11

I had the good fortune of spending 2 weeks with Lauren and Joey at their apartment in Portland last year. It's easy enough for couples to recruit their friends to come on here and say nice things about them. And I'm sure they're all lovely people deserving of wonderful weddings. However, as a couple, Lauren and Joey have gone above and beyond *just* being lovely. Before I traveled from Chicago to Portland, Joey and I didn't really know each other. But when Lauren asked him if I could come and stay with them for an indefinite period of time, he didn't blink in saying yes. What's more, he extended himself further offering to take me hiking in the beautiful mountains of the Pacific Northwest. And that's pretty much a microcosm of Lauren and Joey as a couple. They're good, decent people who love each other and take care of each other's friends.

No one deserves this more than Lauren and Joey. And let's be honest, Laura and Darryl are total chumps. #overrated

I nominate my assistant,Lauren, and her fiancé, Joey. Their love story is so sweet and touching, and they are two of the most sincere people I've ever met. Winning this award would be so perfect for them, because they truly love Portland and should have beautiful, hand letter-pressed cards made here in our fair city for their upcoming wedding.

thu, 2014-02-27 14:52 | swizemann

I nominate Lauren & Joey. I've known both of them since 3rd or 4th grade and we've been great friends since we met. They actually dated in 8th grade and Joey might have shed a tear or two when they broke up that summer. Joey and Lauren re-connected after college and they make you want to be in a relationship. They are extremely caring, giving, and brave (because they always follow their hearts). These two brave-hearts crossed the country together (with their huge dog Arnold) and started off on a completely new adventure. They are good candidates because they support marriage equality and have always been advocates for the LGBTQ community. They don't judge how other's live. Joey's even brave enough to go into the basement of a gay bar in Chicago to get a beer and be with his friends! I guarantee Lauren would have been there if they let girls in! Any they both love beer-- best couple ever!

I am nominating my cousin and her fiance, Lauren and Joey. Your card designs are unique, one-of-a-kind, and beautiful! They deserve this award because they are also unique, one-of-a-kind, and beautiful. They live simply and love life. Lauren and Joey's love for one another is contagious and makes this world a better place :) They absolutely love your stationary store and would be forever grateful if they could take home this award!

thu, 2014-02-27 13:33 | cschnobrich128

I am honored and excited to nominate Lauren and Joey, two of the most lovable and loving people I know. Lauren was my supervisor and Joey my coworker at a small craft brewery in Illinois, where I worked side by side with them on a daily basis. They are both so kind and generous; I can't imagine two more perfect people to be in love. They both have infectious good spirits and I can't wait to see what married life has in store for them. Love you two - "Best Couple" is right!

thu, 2014-02-27 13:24 | rlauren

I am nominating Joey and Lauren. I can honestly say that not only is Joey the best friend that anyone could ask for, but he is also the best big brother. After having his heart broken in middle school by his very first girlfriend, Joey and Lauren found their way back to each other years later. They are both wonderful people and are so deserving of this award. It is evident by talking to either of them how truly in love they are.

thu, 2014-02-27 13:18 | cmcarani

How many people can say they are getting married to their 8th grade sweetheart? They were together in middle school, then grew apart for a great chunk of their life. Struggling through relationships that weren't quite right and Joey moving across the country and back, they eventually found each other again. The rest, as they say, is history. Joey and Lauren for President! Er, for the Egg Press contest I mean...

thu, 2014-02-27 13:05 | gatorj

I nominate Lauren and Joey, because they are the definition of good samaritan. When we were stuck in the great land of Portland with nowhere to go, they welcomed my friends and I into their home with open arms. They have incredible jokes that could make even a king cobra laugh, and a wonderful dog that deserves nothing less than seeing his amazing owners have the wedding of their dreams. They definitely deserve this!

thu, 2014-02-27 13:00 | john schneider

I nominate Darryl and Laura! They are nicer than the nicest people you know. Give them paper things!

thu, 2014-02-27 12:45 | mcrymes

I vote for Laura and Darryl because they are the cutest, and I am so excited for their wedding! I have no doubt that it will be stylish and tasteful and so much fun and include lots of dancing, much like the time I spent with Laura in the dorms in college. :) Laura and Darryl 4ever! xoxox

thu, 2014-02-27 12:17 | carsiboo

I'd like to nominate Laura and Darryl! The intelligence and talent shared between these two is astonishing--unquestionably the best couple.

thu, 2014-02-27 11:49 | bparker

I have had the absolute pleasure of knowing Lauren and Joey for a good chunk of my life, and am happy to nominate them. They have an infectious sense of humor that leaves everyone around them giggling for days. I was alongside them when they first dated in 8th grade, when we were all too awkward to really know what dating is. Now I am thrilled they have found their way back to each other, beginning an exciting new life together full of joy out on the West Coast. They deserve it!

thu, 2014-02-27 11:26 | qmiltonian

Lauren is a saint. A modern day mother Theresa of love and beer. Your invitations seem pretty cool and i'm not sure if Lauren and Joey can go any higher on the scale of coolness-- so let's find out.

thu, 2014-02-27 11:24 | big arnold all day

I nominate Joey and Lauren. Lauren and I have been friends for about 15 years, and we have known Joey just as long! They were each others first boyfriend and girlfriend in middle school, and even each others first kiss! They reconnected years later after high school, and after college! They have an amazing story, and are an amazing couple! Lauren is my best friend, and as much apart of me as any sister. I'm so proud of her, and I'm so happy her and Joey are getting married. I have memories of those two that stretch back to sixth grade. I love them both, and I couldn't imagine either of them with anybody else in the world. Much love to you both!

thu, 2014-02-27 11:24 | sjthorn

Im nominating Lauren and Joey. At one point both of these wonderful people were my bosses and dealt with me going through a pendulous swing of emotions between dealing with my father with Alzheimer's, having difficulty remaining sober, and physical exhaustion from working four jobs at once. Yet their joyous emissions of pure and unconditional love for one another along with a tender consideration and care for the people around them (including myself) always gave me hope to keep going through with this life. Not only are they perfect for each other, but they make other people feel loved as well.

thu, 2014-02-27 11:06 | pato616

Laura and Darryl are my nomination for "best couple" simply because they are the "best couple" and deserve all the best in life! They are truly made for each other and two of the smartest people on this earth.

thu, 2014-02-27 10:32 | dougthebear

Laura and Darryl are the best couple - hands down! Laura is the coolest, smartest, and sweetest girl ever. We are looking forward to welcoming Darryl into our family. They deserve every discount available for their purchase because they've already received many, many blessings.

thu, 2014-02-27 09:46 | gonetowoof

I would like to nominate Laura and Darryl. They are just so made for each other. Neither came from New York where they met, but they just seem so perfect together. You won't find a more stylish couple. I love them both and I believe they are the most deserving couple.

thu, 2014-02-27 09:39 | mary ann

Another nomination for wundercouple Laura and Darryl!

Where else, but in their glowing luster of their love and courtship, could we find two people who were meant for — nay, born for — the Egg Press Crown of Best Couple? Laura and Darryl are a matched (and unmatchable) pair whose vim and verve in each other's company confirm for us all that love of this kind is the rarest of brass rings. They have reached for it, my Egg Press friends, and seized the prize! As wryly understated and distinctively stylish as your own fine creations, Laura and Darryl are the kind of people you can never really get enough of: kind, charming, surprising, delightful, secretly fierce and the kind of team that should win at everything — as they have in finding each other.

thu, 2014-02-27 09:34 | amyo

Laura and Darryl are the cutest couple I have ever seen. They are basically like the Rachel Mcadams and Ryan Gosling of real life - minus the whole scene where they are yelling at each other angrily, oh and that scene with the ferris wheel - that didn't happen either. Actually most scenes didn't happen...but they are super awesome and most deserving of the Egg Press letterpress printed wedding suite!

thu, 2014-02-27 08:53 | wft

Laura & Darryl are HANDS DOWN the best couple--I nominate them. Ya'll would be silly not to pick these amazing SoCal meets Austin by way of Brooklyn lovebirds. Seriously.

thu, 2014-02-27 08:48 | egedmark

I nominate Laura and Darryl! They are definitely the best couple. And they are also, almost certainly, the couple who loves and appreciates stylish letterpress paper goods the most. I love them and their wedding is going to be super cool and I really hope they win the best couple wedding suite contest!

thu, 2014-02-27 08:36 | hvera

LAURA and DARRYL are totally deserving of "Best Couple." They are truly the kindest, coolest people I know.

thu, 2014-02-27 08:34 | seanmcmanus

My niece Laura, a native Texan, meets Darryl from California in NEW YORK CITY! They are 2 of the brightest people I know and make a really cute couple, sort of the long and short of it. Plus she really knows her football, 2 time defending Super Bowl champ of our family fantasy football league!

thu, 2014-02-27 08:32 | joe_hebert

I would like to nominate Laura and Darryl. They are kind people.... maybe even too kind. Perhaps they will send all of these invitations to starving kids in Eritrea. How nutritious are these invitations and envelopes?
Anyway, L&D are great. Give them stuff, please!

thu, 2014-02-27 08:31 | torpidturpitude

Laura and Darryl are the most wonderful people and I love them both to pieces. I can't wait for the day that I can call Darryl my nephew. They deserve every blessing the get in life, although they have already received the greatest blessing of all - the love of each other.

thu, 2014-02-27 08:27 | cynthia388

I stand behind Laura and Darryl. They are kind, host wonderful dinner parties, simplistically stylish (and so the perfect bearers of the egg press logo), and they sorta fold into each other like yin-and-yang, but with less opposition.

thu, 2014-02-27 08:09 | mwforlg

I would like to nominate Laura & Darryl! They wear glasses and are very worthy of discounts.

thu, 2014-02-27 08:06 | asilenzi

I nominate my friends, Darryl and Laura. Not only are they one of the cutest and most awesome couples I know, but they make a devastating trivia-team duo.

thu, 2014-02-27 08:05 | mars

I would like to add my name to the growing and glowing nominations for Lauren and Joe. While Lauren is my sister (and Arnold the 150lb Newfoundland my brother), I can't wait for Joe to be a part of my family. Their relationship is so comfortable and sweet that it is infectious. As if their life isn't already adorable, they were each others first boyfriend and girlfriend waaaaay back in 8th grade here in Chicago. They went their separate ways, as 8th graders probably should, until life brought them back together a few years after college in their hometown of Lake Bluff, Il. It was during their time together as co-workers at the Lake Bluff Brewing Co that they realized their instincts in 8th grade were correct and fell back in love. So they merged their lives and moved to Portland. They truly are the "Best Couple" I know. I love you guys, hope you win this. You sure deserve it!

wed, 2014-02-26 14:21 | kmacd

I'd like to nominate my boss, Nathan, and his fiancee, Bridgette. If he had his druthers, he would spend his days designing typefaces but instead he slaves away keeping our business in gear. He likes to bake bread during business hours for our office, which is run out of his house. Since they were formally engaged, we've quadrupled our staff and we've been looking into commercial space to give them a bit more privacy and us a little more desk space.

It would be awesome to be able to give them some beautiful invitations.

sun, 2014-02-23 14:17 | naomi

I am SO VERY EXCITED!!!! to nominate the world's best couple, Lauren and Joey!!!! Lauren is by far the most wonderful, kind, caring girl one could ever meet. Joey is a loving, funny, and giving person. The two of them together are magic, and when one sees them together it's impossible not to believe in love. Watching how they dote on each other and have unconditional acceptance and positive regard for one another is truly touching. Their bond could warm the coldest heart, and their wedding will exemplify what weddings are about: building a beautiful life together where two become one and a whole new future is born out of the words "I do." They are active in the Portland community, and are advocates of "buy local." Though both are recent transplants from Illinois, they chose to hold their wedding in their new hometown of Portland, and to patronage the local merchants in doing so. I cannot possibly say enough good things about them as individuals, or them as a couple. There simply cannot be a more deserving pair of future newly-weds than these. Both have hearts of gold with beautiful personalities to match, and both have done so much for everyone in their lives. As they build their future together, they deserve to have a lovely set of stationary on which to invite their loved ones to this amazing celebration of love!!! I so hope you will consider them, as they truly exemplify the spirit of love and the mindset of hope. Lauren and Joey are truly the "Best Couple" I've ever known!!!!

sat, 2014-02-22 20:06 | desmall

I nominate my daughter Emily and her fiancé Grant. Although they met, fell in love and still live in DC, they have never forgotten their Oregon roots. They are getting married in Portland in September and plan to move back here as soon as they can. Arranging a wedding from 3000 miles can be tough, but they are both committed to making their wedding as personal as they can.
Also, Emily is a scrupulous writer of thank-you notes and always has a stash of egg press cards ready.
Thanks for this opportunity!

sat, 2014-02-22 09:58 | carrollpdx

Our friends Lauren and Joey and their dog Arnold are definitely the BEST couple. They picked up everything they had (including 150lb Arnold) and moved across the country to Portland to start their new life together and I couldn't be happier for them! I hope they win!

fri, 2014-02-21 16:47 | tlwierman

I am nominating my best friend in Portland, Lauren, and her fiance Joe. They remind me so much of Nick and Jess from New Girl, it makes me laugh :) They belong together and we are all so happy they are tying the knot. They will be getting married next Spring. Lauren said Egg Press is the best stationary store in Portland!!

fri, 2014-02-21 16:15 | carabear13

My brother Joey and his fiancé Lauren are getting married next spring, and I think that they deserve this award. I'm so happy for them and I hope they get to win this award and they have benign dating for maybe 1 year. Anyway I just hope they win this! Thanks

fri, 2014-02-21 15:46 | jmartin419

I would like to nominate my super rad friends Nikki and Lea! They are getting married this fall and have been troopers throughout their 5 year long-distance romance. I can't think of a more deserving couple. My best to them. Much love.

thu, 2014-02-20 18:11 | annploeger

I would like to nominate myself :)? My finacee and I are getting married in July. I feel so lucky to have found him and we can't wait to start our lives and hopefully a family together. THANKS!
