From his early days in Central California skateboarding, drawing, and attending punk shows, to his current life in New England, Russ processes life and his interactions with the world through the prism of a pen and a paintbrush. His inspirations include skateboarding, music, and the colorful people he encounters daily. His bold strokes, finite doodles and striking paintings are characterized by faces, still lifes and humorous events.
The Egg Press Artist Series invites our favorite designers, illustrators and artists to create letterpress-printed work through the Egg Press studio. Russ is a dear friend and an artist we love, so a collaboration between us was a no-brainer.
This inaugural Egg Press Artist Series release consists of three Valentine's Day cards and three limited edition art prints, all of which are letterpress printed with care at our Portland studio.
Russ has shown this year at Adler / Smith Gallery in Santa Monica as well as Antonio Colombo gallery in Milan and has recently collaborated with Type7, Juxtapose, and Stance.
